Update to Branch Operations

Hospital Branches
In accordance with the guidelines provided by our partner hospitals, Hospital branches continue to provide service to on-site Hospital employees only. Please continue to exercise social distancing while you interact with our staff.

Stand Alone Branches - Decatur, Douglasville, Hiram, Savannah
Effective Monday, June 1, 2020, we will reopen our lobbies at our Decatur, Hiram, Douglasville, and Savannah branches. We will continue to admit members one at a time to our Sandy Springs Branch.

In the interest of member and employee safety, we will continue to exercise Social Distancing and cleaning protocols when serving our valued members. When possible please utilize Drive-Thrus and ATMs. We encourage you to continue to use available electronic services such as mobile deposit, bill pay, account transfers, and loan payments available through the Mobile App and Online Banking.

When you enter the lobby, if you are wearing a mask as recommended by the CDC, you may be asked to temporarily remove your mask so we can verify your identity before performing a transaction or providing service. We ask you to consider wearing a mask while working with a Member Advisor in a private office.

Piedmont Paces Branch

Due to limited staffing caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our Piedmont Paces Branch has new hours:

As the impact of COVID-19 on the economy continues to grow, we want to assure you your MembersFirst family is here to help. Nothing is more important than your health and safety and the need to protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus. We are taking multiple steps to minimize health risks to our members, team members and our communities, including enhanced cleaning procedures in our branches.

Our standard practice of providing convenient and accessible service allows us to continue to simplify your banking. Many of the services you use each day are available electronically and remotely and we encourage you to utilize these services. To keep in the practice of minimizing the spread of the virus with social distancing, you may consider the following alternatives to in-branch service:

Stimulus Payments

The U.S. Treasury Department has advised that payments should begin hitting the accounts of eligible Economic Impact recipients on April 15, 2020. On and after April 15th, please refer to the financial institution or account where you received a Tax Refund or made a Tax Payment in 2019 to see if you received a deposit. If you do not see a deposit, your can visit the IRS website at the following links to check the status of your deposit or find answers to your questions. We anticipate heavy call volume and long waits. To avoid the wait we suggest using our automated Phone Banking, Online Banking or Mobile Banking to check your account periodically.

Drive-Thru Service

Our Decatur, Hiram, Douglasville and Savannah branches are equipped with Drive-Thru lanes and Drive-Up ATMs and night depositories. ATMs at the Decatur and Savannah branches take deposits. We encourage you to use these facilities for quick and easy deposits and withdrawals. A link to search for thousands of surcharge-free ATMs nationwide is available on our website at MembersFirstGA.com/contact. If you are unable to access a MembersFirst ATM or one of the thousands of surcharge-free ATMs available, you can take comfort in the fact that MembersFirst Credit Union does not charge you a foreign ATM fee; however, you may be charged a fee by the owner of the ATM you use.

If you prefer to stay at home and connect with us digitally, a full range of services is available to you.

Visit our website at www.membersfirstga.com to view your account balance, make transfers between accounts, make loan payments, make payments on your MembersFirst Visa® Credit Card, pay bills with our free Bill Pay and apply for a loan or credit card. You can also use the Secure Messaging feature to send us messages and ask questions about your account.

Mobile Banking

Download the free MembersFirst Mobile app. With the app, you can check your balance, make transfers between accounts, make loan payments, make mobile check deposits and use our free Bill Pay. Access is immediate. If you do not have access to Mobile Deposit through the app, please contact us at 404 978-0080 or 912 352-2902 and we will review your account.

Our phone lines remain open with representatives ready to assist you. We anticipate heavy call volume and, while we have taken additional measures to ensure call coverage, we ask for your patience and encourage you to use any of the electronic and self-service features available.

For simple tasks, like checking your balance, making transfers and payments, you can use phone banking by calling 404 978-0089 or by choosing option 1 when you call our main number. Follow the prompts and action codes to complete your transaction.

For challenges with your Visa Debit card, like card disputes and card orders, select option 2 when you call our main number.

Loan Applications

If you need to apply for a loan, you can submit your application online through the mobile app or online banking and, in many cases, our loan officers can assist you over the phone or through secure email channels. If you are already in the process of completing a loan and are unable to or uncomfortable with visiting a branch, please contact your loan officer and we will seek other ways to assist you.

We want to assure you, your funds are safe – your deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA. The credit union does not invest your money in the stock market, and we do not rely on shareholders who are seeking to make a profit.

Summer 2020 Skip-A-Payment

With a Skip-A-Payment from MembersFirst, you can skip your June or July 2020 loan payments and keep more cash in your pockets for summertime fun.

Here’s How
1. Complete the Skip-A-Payment Request Form - Available Here
2. Choose a payment option. (There is a $30 processing fee for each loan payment that is skipped. The fee must be paid before your skip request will be processed.)
3. Mail, fax or deliver your form to a branch near you.

For faster processing, we suggest you fax or deliver your form to your local MembersFirst branch.

REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED AT LEAST 3 DAYS PRIOR TO PAYMENT DUE DATE.
Please check your account to confirm processing fee has been deducted to confirm the skip request was received and processed.

It’s really that simple! When your request is approved, we’ll move your loan date forward by one month from your present due date. Interest on your loan will continue to accrue at the rate originally stated, and the maturity date on the loan may be affected. Your normal payment schedule will resume during the month following the one you skip.

Skip-A-Payment Application

By participating in MembersFirst’s Skip-A-Payment program, you request that MembersFirst CU defer your loan payments as indicated. You agree and understand that 1) Loans must have originated at least six months prior to the date you choose to skip your payment; 2) If we are unable to stop your ACH payment in time, your skipped payment may be delayed until the next scheduled payment; 3) Finance charges will continue to accrue at the rate provided in your original loan agreement during and after this time; 4) Deferring your loan payment will result in your having to pay higher total FINANCE CHARGES than if you had made your payments as originally scheduled; 5) If you have an extra pay period in the month you choose to skip, we will only skip the equivalent of one month. For example, if you are scheduled to receive three payroll deposits in the month, only the first two payments will be skipped. If your payment is made through Payroll Deduction or Direct deposit, your additional payment will be deposited into your MFCU Membership Savings account; 6) You will be required to resume your payments the following month; 7) The payment deferral will extend the terms of your loan(s), and you will have to make extra payments after your loan would otherwise have been paid off; 8) If you elected Debt Protection coverage on your loan and participate in the Skip-A-Payment program, the coverage on your loan will extend your original maturity date and accrued interest and debt protection premiums will be added to the outstanding principal balance on your loan. GAP coverage: If you signed a GAP waiver on your vehicle loan, you are allowed a maximum of five Skip-A-Payments to maintain full coverage in the event of a total loss of your vehicle. Skip-A-Payments greater than five will result in additional liability on your loan; 9) All deferrals are subject to MFCU approval; 10) Your loans must be current to accept this offer (loans more than 10 days past due are subject to additional approval; certain restrictions may apply); 11) If your loan payments are deposited from another institution (ACH or Direct Deposit), the funds received in the month you skip will be deposited into your savings account; 12) Recent deferred payments on your loan due to hardship caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic could disqualify you from approval for the 2020 Skip-A-Payment program. There is a $30 processing fee per loan, which will be deducted from your account or paid over the counter (as specified above). All loans listed will be skipped for the month listed; only one month may be skipped for this promotion. All Skip-A-Payment requests are subject to approval, and limitations do apply. If you are not eligible to skip a payment, you will be notified by mail or by phone at the number you list on this form. This promotion excludes Holiday Loans, Vacation Loans, Fast Cash Loans, Back-To-School Loans, Chatham Special Loans, Revolving Loans, Land Loans, 1st Mortgages and Visa® Credit Cards.
